Previously it was known as “Uttaranchal” that was officially renamed as Uttarakhand in January 2007. Auli is the coldest place of Uttarakhand and at 2800 meter above from the sea level. The Seasons of Uttarakhand are distinctively categorized in three main seasons such as: Summer from April to June Monsoon from July to September and winter from October to February. But the state never stops looking splendidly beautiful in all the seasons. For tourist the peak season to visit in Uttarakhand is Monsoon.

People of Uttarakhand use many languages but the most common languages that one can listen there are Kumaoni and Garhwali. It is also a proud for uttarakhand’s people that the Sanskrit language is the language not only of ancient India but also of Uttarakhand.

It is 1938 meter above from sea level. The piece of “heaven on Earth” Nanital is found by the British in 1948. The word Nani is originated from the name of Hindu Goddess Nani Devi whose temple is located by the lake. Nani Peak, Snow View, Nanital Ropeway, Bhimtal Lake, Naukuchaiytal Lake and Sat Tal Lake are the famous splendidly beautiful places beyond the Nanital.

The Queen of Hills Mussoorie is one of the worth visiting place. Its beautiful green hills and mighty Himalayan ranges covered with snow, and Doon Valley situated in south, always attracts tourists. Yamuna Bridge Naag Tibba Dhanu Lati and Surkhanda Devi are famous tourist places near Mussourie. Jim Corbett national Park, Rajaji national park, Kedarnath Sanctuary, Govind wildlife sanctuary, Binsar wildlife Sanctuary and Nanda Devi National Park are also included in graceful places. It is not enough, there is something more for fun loving tourists like trekking, skiing, river rafting,  biking, paragliding and campaigning too.
